JT's story and my own life

Johnny Tremain in the beginning lived with his owners Mrs. and Mr. Lapham. Johnny worked all day; starting the fire, milking the cows, fetching water, etc. Until one day Johnny fell and burnt his hand on the furnace. They unwrapped his hand a few days later and discovered his thumb was connected to his palm. The Laphams were horrified and kicked him out for he couldn't help out anymore. He searched for days looking for jobs. He finally found a job as a printer. Johnny slept by his mother's grave because he had no other place to stay.

My life is a lot different. I go to school everyday (except the weekend) for 5 hours and 35 minutes. I come home, work on homework then help out around my house. I don't work as hard as Johnny, because most of my days are taking up by school. When I do have some free time, I'm usually enjoying days outside exploring or hanging out with good friends.

This is a good piece, but keep in mind that you were meant to portray how you were alike, not how you were not alike. Find some sentence that you felt you could relate to in Johnny Tremain. Punctuation and grammar was good, and your sentences were fine, so that was good. Instead of describing the part of the story so much, you could be enunciating your point and finding something which you think you have in common wit Johnny Tremain. Other than that, it was an excellent piece- you're a good writer.
